Corcovado Foundation

The Corcovado Foundation was established in 1996 by concerned residents of the Osa Peninsula in Costa Rica, near Corcovado National Park. Our initial project involved collaborating with the Conservation Area to establish patrols and ranger stations in the biodiverse region surrounding the national park, significantly reducing illegal hunting and logging. We are known as a hands-on, grassroots leader in conservation, with a strong reputation for our volunteer programs and our dedication to a practical, community-led approach to environmental protection.

Through our Corcovado Eco Community Development program, we operate on the Osa Peninsula, recognized as one of the most biologically diverse areas on the planet.

Our programs are action-oriented initiatives focusing on ecosystem restoration and regenerative agriculture. Volunteers from the Foundation educate local community members on various regenerative practices, bolstering food security, safeguarding water supplies, and rejuvenating biodiversity levels impacted by human and climate-induced changes.

The Corcovado Foundation Sea Turtle Conservation Program is now in its nineteenth year.

We offer individuals the chance to make a tangible impact by actively participating in the preservation of endangered sea turtles in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica.

As a volunteer, you will be involved in conservation activities, night patrols, and nest relocation efforts, among others. You will have the opportunity to meet new people and immerse yourself in the unspoiled nature and authentic culture of Costa Rica.
