Fundación El Ángel de Miguel Cotto
The Fundación El Ángel de Miguel Cotto (FAMC) is a nonprofit organization established in July 2007. Our organization aims to promote good nutrition and physical activity in children and adolescents, particularly those who are overweight and obese, through education about healthy lifestyles and by promoting sports activities.
The FAMC promotes multi-sectoral relationships and encourages collaboration with the government, private enterprises, and NGO, as well as other non-profit organizations in order to prevent and reduce the epidemic of obesity in our population. Overweight and obesity are one of the factors that contribute to the development of certain cancer typed, heart diseases, and diabetes, which are the principal causes of death in Puerto Rico. As an integral part of the FAMC, the Miguel A. Cotto Carrasquillo Gym was open to the general public on February 3, 2013.
This program has been designed to be a win-win opportunity for both Sponsors as well as Organizations.
