About Support KC

SKC was created to address several challenges, which had actually plagued nonprofit organizations long before America’s late-nineties growth bubble began to deflate. Foremost among these was the tendency to spend an inordinate percentage of hard-earned contributions on overhead.

SKC is a special purpose nonprofit outsourcing agency that provides reasonably priced administrative and business services to nonprofit organizations of all sizes. This arrangement allows nonprofits to devote more staff and volunteer time to mission-related activities.

SKC performs many support services directly using its cadre of in-house staff. In addition, SKC is equipped to serve in a project management role, utilizing a network of carefully screened specialists who work under contract on a task-by-task basis.

Because Support Kansas City is itself a 501 (c) (3) organization, its personnel are particularly attuned to the needs of the nonprofit community. This means service delivery that is effective, efficient and professional, as well as affordable. SKC provides nuts-and- bolts functions such as bookkeeping and database support, along with technical assistance in more complex areas such as fundraising and special events management.
